When it comes to my beauty routine, i’m a creature of habit. I have to admit when I find a product that works for me, I never let it go. And while I haven’t tested everything, I swear by the products i’m sharing with you all today. Plus, this post gave me the perfect opportunity to test some new products too. So, here are my top beauty picks for Winter.
Ahh winter. After the holidays end it can be so easy to go into hibernation (anyone with me?). But, i’m a huge fan of snow and cold, so I don’t mind it one bit. And, maybe it’s just me, but the winter cool tones work well for my skin! Because I have paler skin, you’ll notice a lot of the makeup i’m recommending here have soft pink undertones. While that will work for some of you, I recommend changing up the colors to go a bit darker if you have a natural tan.
Foundation: NARS Luminous Weightless Foundation
I’ve been in search of the perfect foundation for years. I’ve tried everything from Bobbi Brown to Bare Minerals but hadn’t found that perfect fit until switching to NARS a few months ago. It provides the perfect all-over coverage without feeling cakey. And, it lasts all day so I never feel like I have to reapply. For winter, I tend to pick out one skin tone lighter than my usual pick, as I normally get even paler this time of year. For reference, I use the color mont blanc.
Powder: Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder
A long-lasting pressed powder that promises a smooth, lasting finish? Sign me up. After I put on my foundation and eye brightener, I follow up with this pressed powder to set my look. This is the only powder that truly keeps my makeup pristine for the rest of the day, so I swear by it. I love this powder for winter because it’s very light so it doesn’t feel too heavy on my skin and creates a flawless finish. For reference, I use the color soft sand.
Glow: Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact – Rose
There is nothing I love more that dewy, illuminated skin. And boy does this shimmer brick compact deliver. It’s the perfect amount of glow for winter because of its soft pink undertones. I use it on my cheeks as a blush. But, you can also individual colors as an eyeshadow. I like the rose compact, but if you’re a bit tanner you can try out this brick in Bronze.
Mascara: Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara
Apart from the name being absolutely hilarious, i’ve yet to find a mascara that ads as much volume as this too faced one. It doesn’t clump, lasts forever and makes my lashes look full and long. I don’t use false lashes, so I love a mascara that gives me tones of volume!
Lips: Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss
Bobbi Brown wins me over once again when it comes to my lips. I have tried sooo many lip colors from so many brands, but always come back to her gloss this time of year. It keeps my lips from getting chapped, all while creating the perfect glossy color. I normally use mine (in color bright pink) over her lipstick in pink mauve.
Hair: Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Masque
My hair used to get filled with static in the winter when I lived in Washington. So, I turned to Aveda. I absolutely love there products, but they truly saved my hair in the winter. I had the moisturizing masque as well as the moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and recommend them all very highly for these dryer, colder months! They have a steep price tag, but I promise they’re worth it.
