The 70s are back in a BIG way this fall. Everywhere you look you see bright prints, suede dresses, flared jeans and bell sleeved tops. I decided to try this trend out, and just love the way the outfit came together. So, today i’m sharing two ways you can add a touch of the 70s to your look this season.
I have to admit, when I fist saw this trend I was a bit hesitant. Flare jeans give me major middle school flashbacks and some of the other 70s trends felt so old school to me. BUT, I knew I wanted to try this trend out for you all, and I found a way to hit on the 70s trend without going fully retro. Keep reading to see how you can add a touch of the 70s to your look:
Opt for Flares Instead of Skinny Jeans
I bought these flares for a GREAT price, but was a bit skeptical about how they’d look on. Guys, I LOVE them. I’ll admit that I only have skinny jeans in my closet, so these jeans were a great addition to add a little diversity to some of my looks.
I went for a medium flare, because I wasn’t quite ready to go full on bell bottom. But, swapping our your normal skinny jeans for a pair of flares is a great way to add a 70s feel to your wardrobe. Plus, they give you legs for days!
Pick a Top with Bell Sleeves
Bell sleeves were a HUGE trend in the 70s, and today they’re back and better than ever. You can definitely get them in crazy prints, but I chose this subtle white and pink stop (with an adorable neck tie) to keep my outfit a bit more subtle. I’ll link some of my favorite 70s inspired tops below.
That’s it! These two trends are the perfect way to add a touch of the 7os to your look, without going fully Farrah Fawcett. My advice? Start by adding a pair of flares and some bell sleeve tops to your look. Then, add more 70s styles like fringe, jean skirts and suede to your wardrobe if you like it.

K

I am so ready to be transported back to the 70s this season!! I was totally guilty of having only skinnies in my closet too until last year, and now, I can’t get enough of flares!

Ugh I absolutely can’t get over how perfect this outfit is. Like please give me all of it ASAP!!! I’m such a huge 70’s/boho lover and if I could pick one style to wear forever and always it would probably be that one. Between your fun flares and that darling blouse, I’m just obsessed with this!
