Every year when the weather gets nice I switch up my morning breakfast routine and start juicing and making smoothies. Half the time I walk to work, so I love to drink my smoothie on the way. Plus, who doesn’t love a good smoothie?
This smoothie has to be one of my favorites. I love the combination of strawberry and pineapple so figuring out the perfect combination was a no brainer. One of my tricks is to make each flavor separately and then layer it in the cup. For starters, it looks awesome. But, once I get sick of the first layer it’s like I have a whole new drink. I also always garnish mine with a little extra fruit on top and a fancy straw, just because!
The addition of vanilla greek yogurt takes this recipe to the next level, but I think it would also be great with strawberry or pineapple yogurt. If you try it out let me know!
What are your favorite smoothie recipes?
- 10 strawberries
- 1 personal sized container of vanilla greek yogurt
- handful of ice (for each section of the smoothie)
- 4 large slices of pineapple
- Toss the strawberries, ice, and half of the personal container of yogurt into the blender and mix until smooth.
- Poor into a cup.
- Toss the pineapple into the mixer with ice and the remaining yogurt. Pour slowly over the strawberry layer.
