I love coming up with cute (and delicious) breakfast ideas on the weekends when I have extra time. J absolutely loves Poptarts, but i’m not a fan of all the excess sugar so this recipe was way too perfect!
These Poptarts came together really easily. You can make your own dough if you want, but I used pie crusts from the grocery, which made the recipe SO much easier. I also chose to use Strawberry Preserve, but you could easily substitute it out for your favorite jam flavor.
Enjoy!
- 2 Pie Crusts
- 12 tbsp jam
- sprinkles
- 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 3 tbsp nonfat milk
- Cut the pie crusts making 4 even rectangles from each crust. Then, roll up the remaining crust and cut two more even rectangles. Place on a cookie tray that has been covered in pam. At the end, you should have 12 even rectangles.
- On top of one of the rectangles, add 1-2 tbsps of jam depending on your preference. Cover with the extra layer of pie crust and use a small amount of water to smudge the edges together. Repeat with remaining poptarts.
- Once completed use a fork to add decorations to the edges of the poptart. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375 and place the poptarts in for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!
