A healthy morning is the only way to have a healthy day. I don’t know about you, but if I can get my butt into gear in the morning i’m less tired and more productive all the way until I go to sleep.
While I love a good waffle, eating tons of carbs and loading up on coffee never leaves me feel refreshed and ready for my day. With life being so busy, I need all of the hours I can get. So, i’m sharing how to start my day off right.
1. Hydrate: Water, water and more water. The first thing I do in the morning is drink a glass a water with a lemon wedge. It wakes me up and makes me feel refreshed and ready to tackle my workout. Lately, I’ve also been swapping out water for coffee and it’s made me 10x more productive!
2. Head to the gym: I know, I know easier said than done, right? wrong! I fell into a slump a few months ago where I couldn’t wake up an hour early and head to the gym, it just felt like too much. But, i’ve taken morning workouts back up again and feel so much more productive throughout the day. If you just can’t seem to wake up, pack your gym bag first thing in the morning so you’ll force yourself to work out in the afternoon.
3. Eat breakfast: I used to hate breakfast. I’m not a fan of huge meals so early in the morning, so I like to make myself a granola parfait or avocado toast in the morning just to kick start my body.
4. Get outside: This may just be me, but I love to walk my dog outside in the morning. There is just something about the brisk morning air that makes me feel more awake. I normally take a 20 minute walk in the morning after my workout. It’s also a great way to mentally prepare yourself for the day ahead.
5. Spend quality time: What’s my biggest healthy morning secret? Spending time with J. We don’t get home until late, so any chance we have to spend together we normally jump at the chance. My advice? Set aside 15 minutes every morning to catch up over a glass or water or breakfast – you’re mind and relationship will thank you for it!
Happy Monday!

I am SO not a morning person. I try to drink water as I get ready, but it doesn’t always work out…oops. I need to find more breakfast options I like, because I’m not a fan of that either. Great tips!

What’s funny is that I wasn’t a morning person until about a year ago! Once I started to go to bed earlier, I naturally started waking up around 6:30 or 7:00! I’ve also found going to the gym in the morning helps me get up! Thanks for your sweet comment!
