Happy Friday, loves! Boy, do I have a weekend treat for you. This week I baked the most incredible vanilla doughnuts and topped them with gold glitter. Because, well why not. My feelings on this week are that every day should have involved gold glitter doughnuts.
If you haven’t been able to tell by now, I LOVE baked doughnuts. For starters, they are much healthier than getting fried doughnuts and you can make any flavor combination that you want. My personal favorite are just plain vanilla with a simple sugar glaze. But, I’m thinking I may have to try a red velvet flavor soon too. Have you made them before? What’s you favorite?
Anyway, happy weekend and I hope you love the doughnuts!
- 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
- 6 tbsp White Sugar
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp Buttermilk
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tbsp Butter, Melted
- 1 jar edible glitter
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1-2 tsp Vanilla Almond Milk
- Pre-heat the oven to 325 degrees and use cooking-spray on the doughnut pan
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and baking powder. Add in the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.
- Add dough to doughnut pan and bake about 10 minutes
- Combine the powdered sugar, almond milk, and vanilla extract. Cover the doughnuts in the glaze and spring with golden glitter!
