Typically, I’m not the biggest fan of sweets. Normally when I whip up treats for the blog I leave the tasting portion of the recipe up to Jordon or my family. Cupcakes, however, are my exception. No matter the flavor, I’m the first one to take a bite after they come out of the oven.
I recently put together these adorable Carnation Me Crazy Cupcakes topped with a vanilla bean frosting and boy are they adorable (and tasty). As soon as the shoot wrapped, I even snuck one. I was running on a time crunch for these cupcakes, so I, admittedly, grabbed the cupcakes from the grocery. But, if you want to whip up your own batch you can easily follow this recipe from Life, Love and Sugar – they’re delicious!
As for the carnation topping, it’s so simple to make! Just cut the carnations about 1/4 of an inch below the bud and wrap with gardeners tape. Then, plop it on the top of the cupcake and serve. It’s easy, cute and perfect for summer!
Enjoy!

Pretty post, I love the way you have decorated these cupcakes. Can you eat Carnations? I’m not a big fan of sweets either, but I love eating anything freshly baked. Have a great day! 🙂 Xx

These are gorgeous! I had never thought about putting carnations on cupcakes, but I will definitely remember this for the next time I make cupcakes. 🙂
