Lately i’ve been feeling a little “blehh” about my wardrobe. I always seem to get this way just before winter turns to spring. It’s that awkward time where you don’t want to invest in any more winter clothes, but it’s also too cold to start pulling out the pretty pastels of spring.
During this time of year, I always start selling and donating old clothes and trying to reinvent my winter wardrobe. That’s exactly what J and I did this weekend, which is how this All Black (well, mostly) look was born.
You’ll very rarely find me in all black. It’s honestly probably the color that I wear the least, because my personality just craves a pop of color. However, with a statement piece like this jacket, I was just drawn to simplicity of a simple white button down and my beloved black jeans.
The Formula
Black Jeans
I’ve said it before and I’ll undoubtedly say it again: These J Brand Jeans are by far my favorite. They have a high rise fit and fit perfectly at my ankle. I know you’re probably sick of me saying it by now, but if you haven’t jumped on the high waist bandwagon yet, please give it a shot! They seriously make your legs look like they’re a mile long.
If you’re looking for a slightly more affordable option try out this pair from Abercrombie, I’ve heard wonderful things!
Leather Jacket
My leather jacket is one of my favorite things in my wardrobe! I got this one a few years back and it has taken me from Date Night’s to Girls Nights and even to work. My beloved coat is from All Saints, and I have a second one that is a chocolate brown color from them too. The quality is unparalleled, and they truly will last you forever. I’ve also linked a few more affordable options below.
If you’re not sure that leather is quite for you, you can also try out a suede moto jacket. ( I love this one from ASOS and this one from Nordstrom)
White Button Down
This button down takes you anywhere. Yep, anywhere. JCREW makes a very flattering cut (currently 30% off) as does Madewell.
Everlane also makes a gorgeous silk version if that’s more your thing.
XO,
K

Omg for a second I thought that jacket was a leather vest and I’m obsessed. I love the monochromatic look! I feel you on the style rut that happens between season though, I’m not looking forward to spending thirty minutes trying to make a simple outfit in spring lol
