If the look at our bedroom earlier this month didn’t clue you in, I LOVE decorating for Christmas. Some (ehrm J) would even say I go a bit overboard. But, until I realize my dream of living in a Holiday Hallmark movie, I’m not stopping shopping for holiday decor. #SorryNotSorry
This was our first year celebrating Christmas in our home, so I wanted to make it extra special. Think twinkly lights dangling from the headboard, one tree in each living space and a fully decked front porch. And, boy, do I LOVE how it turned out. A few of my favorite pieces are our big tree, the cozy knits we’ve thrown around the house and the little bottle brush trees that transform even the smallest spaces.
Decorating for the holidays can be a challenge. It’s so tough not to go too far and buy up every single store you visit. Is it just me, or is Target painful to go in right now? My BIGGEST piece of shopping advice is to steer clear of pieces you’ll only use once and instead opt for classic holiday decor that you can pull out year after year. Everything you see here has been purchased over the past 3-5 years all with a common color scheme in mind: Silver, White, Grey and Blush. We’ll likely keep this color pallet for a while, because it matches our regular home decor seamlessly.
These are a Few of My Favorite Things…
Candles
We load up our home with candles this time of year. All are winter themed or scented. I love DW Candles, and you can often find them at Home Goods. Here’s a scent we love.
Blankets
Great for now. Great for later. This is the home product I get asked about at least once a day on Instagram. Such a good throw, such a great wintery, cozy touch.
Bottlebrush Trees
You really can’t go wrong with these trees. They’re affordable and add a little holiday flair all over the home. I’ve had ours for years and adore them!
There you have it! Our holiday decor for 2018. We had so much fun pulling it all together. And, i’m sure you’ll only see it grow next year. I’m at least getting close to Hallmark Movie status, right? How do you decorate for the holidays? Let me know your favorite decor items this year in the comments below.
