Yep. You read the title right. Amazon sells plants. And, apparently they have for a while? I dangerously discovered this fact the same month that we moved into our new home. And, immediately hopped onto the Amazon Plant Store homepage to get a few indoor hourseplants for our space.
Like most millennials, Jordon and I buy EVERYTHING off of Amazon, and we certainly appreciate a good houseplant thanks to the homes of Instagram and Pinterest. But, I was admittedly a little nervous to buy a plant from them. Something about a delicate plant being shipped through the mail gave me real anxiety.
I ordered our Fiddle Leaf Fig from them anyway after seeing insane prices in our local nurseries. To my delight, it arrived in PERFECT condition. And, it’s even grown a few new leaves since it has arrived.
Since then, I’ve ordered a few other indoor houseplants from their store, and have always been really happy with my purchase (and the price). Every time I do I share it on my Instagram, and am always met with TONS of questions. Today, i’m rounding up a few plant favorites and the plants that I’m looking at to buy too! What’s In My House
I am by no means a plant expert. But, I have grown to love the plants in our house. And, with a little bit of googling and a few plant health books, the ones in our house are doing really well. Here are a few of my favorites, if you’re looking for a good place to start.
Fiddle Leaf Fig
It should come as no surprise that my Fiddle Leaf Fig makes the top of the list. We had a few rough months, but now, my Fiddle Leaf is actually sprouting new leaves. And, i’ll admit i’m one very proud plant mom.
My biggest piece of advice? Give it a lot of indirect, bright light. And DON’T move it around, it craves stability. #Same.
Chinese Money Plant
The Chinese Money Plant is proof that a plant doesn’t have to be huge to define your space. Mine (pictured above) is my favorite plant. I love how cute and small it is, and it’s still relatively unique to anyone outside of the plant game.
Snake Plant
Snake plants are great for beginners. No, really, they’re almost impossible to kill. So, if you’re just getting started with your collection grab one of these.
I keep mine in a corner, in indirect light, and water every few weeks. It’s worked well for us!
Bird Of Paradise
My Bird of Paradise plant is a trooper. I think it’s the only plant that I own that hasn’t given me a new wrinkle line at one point or another.
They’ll even sprout flowers if you wait long enough!
